LLG Partner Goode Elected President of Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward Association
In assuming the position of President, Joe will strive to maintain the trajectory of this thriving and cherished Milwaukee neighborhood.

Laffey, Leitner & Goode LLC Founding Partner Joseph S. Goode was elected President of Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward Association (HTWA) at the organization’s Annual Meeting on April 20.  Goode joined the HTWA board of directors in 2019.

Created in 1976 to promote the economic development of Milwaukee’s Third Ward, the HTWA today works to promote the needs and interests of 450 businesses and more than 3000 residents, maintaining the Third Ward’s unrivaled position as Milwaukee’s premiere mixed-use warehouse district. A revitalized neighborhood that has long been a hub for artistic activity, the Third Ward boasts more than 20 art galleries and studios, multiple theater companies, the Milwaukee Ballet, and an eclectic array of restaurants and boutiques. Along with its affiliates at Business Improvement District No. 2 (the BID) and HTWA-Catalano Square, LLC, the HTWA champions this historic district, the award-winning Third Ward Riverwalk, and the nationally acclaimed Milwaukee Public Market.

LLG calls the Third Ward home and has actively supported its continued growth since the firm’s founding nearly seven years ago. In assuming the position of President, Joe will strive to maintain the trajectory of this thriving and cherished Milwaukee neighborhood. Upon his election, Joe said: “The Third Ward is a tremendous asset for Milwaukee. It attracts people to our city and contributes to Milwaukee’s cultural fabric like no other area. I’ve been proud to call it my professional home for nearly a decade, and I hope, in this new role, to continue to help guide its future to equally bright places. The fact that my great grandfather J.B. Kalvelage and his family operated businesses in the Third Ward 100 years ago makes this all the more meaningful to me.”

BID Chairman Ron San Felippo, when asked to comment on Joe’s election, said: “The BID is looking forward to its continued excellent relationship with the HTWA.  Joe Goode has been an active HTWA board member and is exceptionally well suited to be the HTWA President.” Mirroring these sentiments was HTWA Executive Director Jim Plaisted:  “Since joining the HTWA board of directors, Joe has been an active, passionate, and supportive board member for the HTWA and its staff. We are looking forward to his leadership as President and guiding the Third Ward into the future.”
